5 ways to help finger pain at this Beginner level. This lesson is from the Andy Guitar Beginner Guitar Course.

Here's 5 ways to help finger pain at this Beginner level stage. We look at Top Tips that I recommend you adopt to your playing as early as possible as a preventative measure so that we avoid any issues later on. This will help accelerate your progress avoiding any stumbling blocks!

Chord changes and string pressure

If we're strumming chords, we need pressure to the strings on the fretboard but we don't need that extra tension when just practicing chord shapes. Simply practice these changes without actually pressing the string down fully to the fretboard.

Single notes string pressure

Try using minimal amount of pressure to fret a note, with your finger placed to the near side metal fret. Once the string starts to buzz as you slowly lift off the pressure or when the note goes dead completely, then apply a small amount of pressure to bring the note back and that's the sweet spot!
