Use a Capo To Play More Songs

We look at how a capo, along with the musical keys concept we looked at in the previous video, can enable us to play 100s if not 1000s more songs than we would be able to otherwise.

What is a capo?

A capo holds down the strings at a certain fret. This enables the same chords shapes (in for example the key of C) to be transposed to any key - enabling us to play way more songs than we otherwise would, simply with the chords already covered in the course!

A capo changes the key relative to where the capo is. It's the same as the transpose button on a keyboard, but it only allows us to transpose up because we can only move the capo up the fretboard.

What type of capo do you need?

Some capos fit most ukuleles and guitars, some don't. In this video, I use my signature AndyGuitar capo, which fits all my ukuleles and also all my steel string guitars.
