Pentatonic Runs 4

Course: Minor Pentatonic Runs for Lead Guitar

In this video

Using a six-note pattern to move through positions of the minor pentatonic scale

In this lesson we're using the same scale positions already covered in this module, but this time we're using a six-note pattern in the exercise. This allows us to move quickly and fluidly through the scale.

Lesson aims

  1. Pay attention to string skipping, particularly in the upper part of the run
  2. Use slides and hammer-ons to increase speed and fluidity in your runs
  3. Become familiar with the notes in positions 5, 1 and 2 of the A minor pentatonic scale

A minor pentatonic - positions 5, 1 and 2

Red = position 5, Blue = position 1, Green = position 2

Exercise 4 - Minor pentatonic runs using a 6-note pattern
