In this lesson we look at Song Writing, from recording ideas on your phone to fleshing out your ideas into full songs.

A mistake many people make is having their first song idea and then wanting to record this and finish it all in one go. Song writing is a very different process to song recording, and it's often best to separate the two entirely. The more initial ideas you have, the greater the pool you have to pick from to record and the more likely it is that you are recording something others will enjoy also.

Here's a video from my archives of 10 songwriting tips to help you get started. This is mainly intended to inspire beginners to be able to come up with perhaps their first original song. However, every one of the following 10 points is used by professional songwriters and artists, as well as being useful tools that I use too!
