The Lick

In this lesson we're looking at The Lick! Of course there are many licks out there, but this is one of the most famous jazz licks and is generally referred to as The Lick among musicians. You can play this in any key, anywhere on the neck.

Lesson aims

1. Practice The Lick in different positions on the neck
2. Learn to play The Lick in the same key on different strings, e.g. starting from the 9th fret on the fourth string and starting from the 14th fret on the fifth string
3. Try hybrid picking, using your middle finger to pluck the notes on the second string
