Jam Track Consolidation

I hope you have loved the Jam Tracks in this whole course! They should have given you targeted practice for so many specific skills that just playing along to the songs we love alone won't do.

Here's how to consolidate these Jam Tracks.

Jam tracks from levels 1 - 4 are gateway tracks. Once skills are acquired, they can be left behind.

Jam tracks from levels 5 - 8 all use skills that will be relied upon at intermediate level to some extent, no matter what your goals are.

These also help with the essential songs I recommend be part of an ideal beginner repertoire by the end of this course. The jam tracks allow us to work on song playing skills more incrementally than commercial songs allow - so don’t miss these!

Essentials;

  • Level 5 - Jam track 10: G D Em C w/ G major pentatonic melody

  • Level 6 - Jam track 12: Acoustic blues in E

  • Level 7 - Either 13 or 14 is fine: Jam Track 13 more ballad like and slow, Jam Track 14 more up tempo pop, both work on the F chord are in the Key of C

  • Level 8 - Jam Track 15: 12/8 time signature with swing, major scale bass note run downs and key change from C major to G major
