Song Title: Don’t B Blue
Genre: Acoustic Pop
Tempo: 110 bpm
Key: D Major
Techniques: Major & Minor Root 6 Barre Chords
'Don’t B Blue' is an acoustic pop song in the Key of D major. This key mainly consists of easy open chords, with the exception of B minor and F# major, which are barre chords. This combination provides the same challenge as with the F barre chord in some ways, which is why I’ve dedicated this whole section to it. Feel free to use the easier B minor options from the previous page, but work to nailing this song with the root 5 barre chord.

Jam Track Walkthrough
Intro (Bars 1-4) This track begins with a single strum of the D, A, B minor and G chords. The strums should be slow so to hear each string, which is a technique known as ‘Spreads’.
Section A (Bars 5-9) repeated four times This section is repeated four times to allow you to plenty of practice with this barre chord. Again, this is played using the most common strumming pattern ever, and this section is repeated four times.
Section B (Bars 9-14) is the bridge section of the track. This sequence only happens once and includes the F#, Bm and Gm chords, so this is a tricker section to master. Keep the strumming the same, apart from bar 14, which is just a single strum.
Section A reprise (Bars 15-18) repeated twice This is the same as section A, but it should be strummed a little louder this time. An optional up strum on the off beat of 4 can be heard on the audio track and can be added if possible.
