8ths Strumming - Downs and Ups Variation
The strumming pattern here is:
Down - Down - Down - Up - Down - Up
With the last Down - Up - Down - Up on the A chord each time round.
As a rule, the down strums always have to be on the beat. With this strumming, the up strums have to be on the off beat.
Remember to tap your foot to the beat!
It really helps if you develop the habit of tapping your foot whenever you listen to any music. This will help you feel a beat naturally, rather than having to count it.
You should also work towards tapping your foot on the beat with ALL strumming patterns you learn. This means you will internalise the rhythm and make playing in time natural and easy!
