We discuss chord sequences and songs to learn for students studying level 3 of Andy Guitar’s Beginner Guitar Course.

Here I will list the chord sequences you should practice in order to have the ability to play any of the songs at this level. Some of these are similar to real songs that have I have done tutorials for, and I will list these as we go.

Songs for Beginner Level 3

Chord sequence 1

This is similar to Mr Tambourine Man by The Byrds. Practice this on the beat first, then try the strumming suggestion shown.

Remember to lift off the chord at the same time as the last up strum - that's the trick!

Chord sequence 2

Use the 8th strumming variations shown for an extra level of difficulty, or strum on the beat to make it easier.

Chord sequence 3 - 12 bar blues in A

This sequence is similar to the chord sequence used in the song 'Johnny B. Goode' by Chuck Berry - simple song tutorial link. Adding the easy blues riff is encouraged, but optional.
