Structure A Practice Routine

Course: Practice, Warmups & Mindset

In this video

We talk about ways to structure your own practice routine. Part of my Intermediate Course.

Step 1 - have defined long term and short term goals

What are we trying to achieve in this half hour? This week? This 6 months?

Have easy to define short AND long term goals that are written down so you remember them.

Step 2 - what areas are we working on

After watching all the videos from this Practice section, I recommend alternating between any two sections every two weeks, keeping one if you need for longer.

Step 3 - find song examples and increase your repertoire

Find songs you like that showcase the things you are working on at this time. For example;

  • Working on Barre chords - choose 3 songs that use one or more barre chords

  • Working on lead guitar - choose 3 songs that include a single note riff or simple guitar solo

Step 4 - Build your song repertoire

 Discussed properly in the next lesson

Next Up: Building Your Song Repertoire

Well done! Let's jump into the next lesson of the course.
