Stevie Ray Vaughan is widely regarded as one of the greatest guitarists of all time. He is a particularly favourite of many modern guitar legends who grew up with his playing such as Joe Bonamassa and John Mayer (who has an SRV tattoo).

Stevie's electrifying style can be described as a high attack blues rock. He was influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Albert King, Lonnie Mack, B.B. King, Freddie King, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, Howlin' Wolf, Otis Rush, Guitar Slim, Chuck Berry, and Muddy Waters, among countless others. While Albert King had a substantial influence on Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix was Vaughan's greatest inspiration.

In this video, we'll cover how Stevie electrified a basic 12 bar blues in E with his signature percussive boogie rhythm playing. In the next video, we'll learn some classic SRV licks to play over this rhythm track!
