Welcome to this '12 Songs of Christmas' series!

In this first lesson we'll be taking a look at how to play a simple strumming version of Jingle Bells, plus how to play the melody!

Please note: these lessons do not necessarily progress in order of difficulty. We have instead grouped together songs that are in the same key. We have also intentionally mixed up the levels of difficulty so that if you ever get stuck, you can know that the next song may well be easier than the last, or at least have easier chords or melody to learn. That way, you can always keep progressing through the lessons, and revisit any that were hard once you have given them all a try.

Beyond learning each song alone, there are a few other skills we'll be learning or improving along the way. In this lesson, these include the following key learning points.

Key Learning Points

  • Perfecting chord changes between G, C and D
  • Learning the G major scale
  • Improving the skill of reading and understanding chord sheets
