Major and Minor 6th Intervals

Course: Advanced Intervals for Lead Guitar

In this video

In this lesson we're taking a look at major 6th and minor 6th intervals. These intervals are unique in that we don't measure them from the root note, rather we go from the major or minor 3rd to the octave.

Lesson aims

  1. Learn the relative positions of the major 6th and minor 6th intervals
  2. Play a sequence on the 1st and 3rd strings, then try moving the same sequence in the same key to the 2nd and 4th strings
  3. Practice using hybrid picking with the lesson example
