Pentatonic Runs 2

Course: Minor Pentatonic Runs for Lead Guitar

In this video

Using slides to shift between positions 5 and 1 of the minor pentatonic scale

In this lesson we're sliding between position 5 and position 1 of the A minor pentatonic scale, using the same pattern from the previous lesson. This can help us to extend lead lines beyond the constraints of a single scale position.

Lesson aims

  1. Learn to use slides to shift scale positions
  2. Use the rolling finger technique to use the same finger to play the same fret on adjacent strings one after the other
  3. Learn the notes used in different scale positions

A minor pentatonic - positions 5 and 1

Red = position 5, Blue = position 1

Exercise 2 - Minor pentatonic runs with a position 5 extension

Next Up: Pentatonic Runs 3

Well done! Let's jump into the next lesson of the course.
