In this lesson we're looking at a piece of music using arpeggios in 3/4 time signature. We assign each finger on the right hand to one string, with the thicker strings being played by the thumb. This piece makes great use of the time signature to create 6-note patterns for each bar.

Time signatures

This piece is in 3/4 time signature. The top number shows how many beats are in a bar, and the bottom number shows the length of each of these beats. In this case there are three beats per bar (top number), and each beat is a quarter note (bottom number).
