Neo-Classical Licks 1

Course: Learn To Shred with Sam Bell

In this video

This neo-classical lick is a good starting point to expand your solos beyond just playing scale runs

Lesson 11 takes a look at a neo-classical lick. Neo-classical is a style popularised by virtuoso guitarists such as Yngwie Malmsteen and Paul Gilbert in the 80s. It draws influence from classical music, with players learning to play violin pieces on the guitar to expand their skills. This exercise can be great for strengthening your little finger.

E minor scale

In this lesson we're using 2 octaves of the E minor scale at the higher end of the neck.
