Welcome to Andy's comprehensive 5 level course for Ukulele.
Over the years I received hundred of messages requesting a full Ukulele course from Beginner to Intermediate level - and here it is!
Why learn Ukulele?
Playing Ukulele is FUN! It is perhaps the easiest instrument to begin playing songs.
Ukulele is a perfect first instrument for children and adults alike. People who struggle learning other instruments often have much more success and enjoyment on Ukulele.
Ukulele is a gateway to learning guitar and other instruments
There are many transferable skills to be learned on Ukulele that apply to many other instruments. This is absolutely true of guitar, which has a similar anatomy and playing technique.
However, Ukulele is a great way to learn all the fundamentals of music such as rhythm, melody, harmony and the whole concept of chords, scales and how real songs are made. This knowledge will be of huge help when learning any other instrument later or alongside learning Ukulele.
Who is this course for?
This course is ideal for those totally new to Ukulele or for those with some experience.
What level does this course provide for?
This course goes from total beginner to an intermediate level over 5 modules (5 modules are filmed, more are planned for future releases!). Every 2 modules is designed to correspond to a grade (UK music grading system). Therefore, the current filmed lessons go from entry level to around Grade 3 at the current time, with the aim to going to grade 5 in the near future.
How long should each level take?
This is of course dependent on the time put in and the natural aptitude of the student.
However, each level is designed to be watched and practiced over anywhere between 2 days and 2/3 weeks max. At which point, the focus of the student should switch to learning the recommend songs from the tutorials at the level.
The above time-guide is for the course lessons. When it comes to songs, this is another matter...
Fact is, everyone wants to play songs. But for best progress, there is a sweet spot between learning enough songs (as real world examples of the stuff you can do) and learning too many songs, which can very much slow down progression
For best progress, follow the detailed recommendations in the practice routines and recommended song tutorials, which are all made clear and provided in this course.
When is the best time to start?
When it comes to learning an instrument, the sooner you start the easier it is. But any person of any age can learn Ukulele, there is absolutely no ago that is too old.
Even children as young as 3 or 4 years old can begin playing something and should be encouraged to enjoy holding and playing with the Ukulele as their own - let them play!
The best advice is that there is no earlier time than the present.
What kind of Ukulele is this course for?
This course is appropriate for ALL ukuleles EXCEPT Baritone ukuleles, which have a different tuning.
Soprano, Concert and Tenor size ukuleles are all fine :)
Which Ukulele should I buy?
There are many great budget Ukuleles available these days, but it can be confusing to know which to buy.
With that in mind, I am proud to release my own signature ukulele in partnership with Brunswick! This is a quality instrument appropriate for beginner to intermediate level players and is priced as low as we can possibly make it for an instrument of this quality.
We're proud to announce Andy's first ever signature Ukulele - the Andy Guitar Concert Ukulele AGCU200.

From the start, this was conceived to look similar to my signature acoustic guitar and made to a top notch spec. See and hear it in action in my recent Ukulele videos and in my new Ukulele beginners course videos
