Check out the Jam Tracks below to get inspired!

Now, If you haven’t started adding some element of improvisation to your practice time - this is your prompt to START!

I cover this in depth in my lead guitar program, which 100% applies to acoustic guitar too - but it is a big course. So here’s what you need to know to START, plus plenty of jam tracks and exercises to get started and make what you play sound effortlessly musical.

Everything we cover here will use the A minor pentatonic scale.

Remember, the scale is just a tool, it’s not music alone.

Here’s a few methods to make this scale sound musical

  • Start and end at the root notes (NOT always on string 6!)

  • Go in order, then do a jump (or vice versa)

  • Add a pause

  • Syncopate the rhythm (start on the beat, play the off beat then miss the off beats)
