Acoustic Looper Jam 12 in B - Watch me for the changes and try and keep up!

Course: Acoustic Looper Bootcamp

In this video

Looper Jam 12 in B, again were utilising the sound of keeping the strings 1 and 2 ringing out for every chord.

In this jam, we're again utilising the sound of keeping the strings 1 and 2 ringing out for every chord. This has the same effect sound wise as keeping fingers 3 & 4 down on the chords G, Cadd9, Em7 etc (Wonderwall style), but in this case we can do the same trick with open strings.

This is another great vehicle to make us focus on the movement of the bass note, or any other note that may move when the chord changes, while other notes of the chord stay the same. Focusing on the tension and resolve that this creates is one of the best ways to create moving, powerful chord progressions, not matter the style of genre.

This can make the name of the chords complex, but just like with Oasis aka campfire chords, once you become familiar you'll know exactly where and how to use them.

Also, did you spot the Back To The Future reference in the lesson title? Of course you did!

FYI - Johnny B Goode advanced electric tutorial is here
