We talk further about goals and finding musical outlets like recording yourself, playing with others or performing live. These are all great ways to improve your playing and get the most out of playing guitar. Part of my Intermediate Course.
It really helps if you BIG GOALS (discussed in lesson 1 of this section) these can become what I call your musical outlet.
What is a musical outlet?
1. Recording yourself
Discussed in video at 2:53
This can be as simple as keeping a record of your playing on your phone or ipoad using the Voice Memos feature all the way to self recording your own album. (like I did here)
More professional yet simple recording options include;
Apple devices - Garageband (free on Mac, iPad & iPhone) or Logic and Pro Tools for professional recording.
PC software includes Audacity (free) and Cubase or Protools for professional recording on PC.
2. Playing with others
Discussed in video at 4:46
Jam nights, open mics, guitar groups in your area, friends, start a band or duo or just have a weekly jam with a neighbour :)
3. Performing (in whatever capacity) (5:54)
Discussed in video at 5:54
Recording yourself counts as performing Online video also counts! YouTube or Facebook live Open nights are the greatest things Starting a band, a duo Strumming for friends and family at a BBQ etc
At 5:34, I mention a video of mine called Timeline of your guitar success, which will help embellish this concept for you. I've embedded this video below
