Welcome to Day 10 of this FREE 10 day acoustic guitar series where we'll be checking out how to play some easy blues guitar and how we can fusion Blues techniques into normal pop or rock songs!
The song we're using as an example of this is 'That'll be the day' by Buddy Holly!
This really cool easy guitar song uses the chords E, A and B7 plus the easy blues riff!
What is a '7' chord?
Any number at the end on a chord means there is an extra note added. This doesn't always make it harder to play, in fact it can make it much easier! When a 7 is added to a chord name aka B7, it indicates that the chord is a dominant
7th chords always sound 'bluesy', just like how minor chords sound 'sad'. As the only way to play a normal B chord on guitar is with a tricky barre chord, the B7 here can be seen as a much easier option anytime you see that a B is written in any song!
