String Bending exercises

Key points with string bending are;

  • Bending in tune
  • Moving from low strings to high strings
  • Don’t do this on acoustic, do slides instead

Unison Bends

Unison bending is when one note is bent up to the pitch of another and both notes ring out at the same time. 

Key points are;

  • We play two string, bending one note up to the pitch of another
  • We hear the tension of the two notes, which is resolve when we bend one string up to the same pitch as another
  • First finger remains still
  • Third finger bends up a whole tone, supported by the middle finger
